Serial connection cuts out randomly

The data stops sending from the osPid to the front end at random times. The graph flat lines and a restart of the Processing app is needed to regain graphing.

There is an error message to do with rxtx when this happens, will try and capture it...

Excellent. I have encountered this a couple of times myself but have never been able to reproduce. I'm assuming it's either a ram issue on the osPID, or just a weakness in the Comm protocol I've devised.

I ran into this problem every few minutes, so I just stopped using the computer to control the device. Is there a way I can help record the problem - I'm sure I can reproduce the problem.

I'd put my money on it being a RAM issue. the new firmware (currently in progress) is far better in that area. hopefully that will take care of it.
